Forestry celebration and ramble - 11am, Sunday 20th March, Dalby Forest
Following the Government’s suspension of all planned forest sales for the time being, announced in the House of Commons on 17 February, Hugh Bayley (MP for York) is organising a celebration and ramble through Dalby Forest to mark the success of our campaign, which has helped lead to the Government’s climbdown on forest privatisation. Thank you for your support.
You are invited to attend the ramble, which will take place on Sunday 20th March from 11am, to mark World Forest Day. There will be some speeches, after which foresters will be on hand to lead groups on the walk and demonstrate examples of good forestry practice. They will show us the great work that the Forestry Commission does on nature conservation, education and public access.
We will meet at Dalby Forest Visitor Centre, which has plenty of car parking, toilets and refreshment facilities. It can be accessed via Pickering on the A169 Pickering to Whitby road. There are brown tourist signs that lead the way from Pickering and further information is available at www.forestry.gov.uk/dalbyforest
