Brownbacks - race 2 - 24th July 2011

'Lovely weather for it' was the general conversation occurring in the BB minibus on route to Lee Quarry, and yes, it definitely was. A bit too nice if you ask me, but then again I'm typically British, with my moan when it’s too cold & moan when it's too hot! Anyway let’s get back to the point. The course was set up with a bit more for the technically minded of us, but with no rest bite to even grab a gel or a drink. 'What, no gels' I hear you scream. It’s not necessarily a bad thing though. Haven’t quite got the taste of bannoffe out of my mouth from Mayhem. aahhh, the thought just makes me want to puke! Am I rambling again? oh, yes, I am.

back to the course. so then, so far we have the fact that there was no rest bite and a bit techy. the rest of it was a bit like been on a boat really, up and down, and up and down, and up and, oh yes, you've got the message.

Started off really poor for me. crappy first lap. with that horrible steep hill start it made me feel like my lungs were going to explode. Then after that I started to role nicely, picking riders off one by one. Just when things were getting serious and I had mr Bealey in my sights things went slightly against me in the shape of TWO, yes TWO punctures on the same god damn rock with only one tube on my person. Bealey you are so lucky! I'll get you next time!.. maybe!

Great race by the whole team though. Mechanicals for some us which were race Enders, but that’s racing, especially at Lee Quarry. Tubeless for me next time I think.

A special well done goes out to Morgan Lloyd who managed to Break the only thing that wasn't wrong with it before he started racing. The comments before the race were 'I think there might be something wrong with my bike' said Morgan. Upon closer inspection it was established that his head set bearings, bottom bracket, and brakes were all shafted! 'I think there might be something wrong with my bike' was the understatement of the year. Oh dear morgs!

Well done everyone once again. looking forward to the next one.

Bring it on!!!!!!!!!
